Year 2007
It is now 12pm on the 31st of December 2007 and in a matter of hours, I will be waving this bitter-sweet year goodbye. I must say that this year was a special year, maybe not a brilliant one, but a year in which I have experienced much.

On a surface level, it was a year I started afresh but ended pretty differently. It was a year became a arts and law student, worked as a waitress, visited Sydney, survived first-year uni and certainly done much damages to my young life, screwing things up from time to time.

On a deeper level, many wounds were inflicted and healed and many scars were left, but there were some great achievements, much was forgiven and happy times were not absent.

Year 2007, I have come to make some awesome friends, get use to my long distance relationship,

come to love coffee – especially mocha, come to love cats,

come to love shopping, love the beach,

summerlove

come to love photoshop and love English drama series.

On the downside, I have c
ome to be a chocoholic - constantly munching on chocolate snack bars during exam period *violent head shakes*

Put on a fair bit of weight *big sighs*

Come to be a lazy bum - too lazy to buy groceries from the market and thus survived on coffee and microwavable vegetables *sighs*, but studies was indeed my priorities and I do not like spending my much precious time on house-chores and cooking and buying groceries =P

Spent a lot of money - Oh, the convenience of having my employer paying me about 80 dollars a week, cash on hand, and thus rendered me spending much money on coffee, subway sandwiches, foccacia and eating out, as well as spending on flight tickets and on shopping! (oh, the beautiful ballet palms, heels, summer dresses, vibrant-colour sexy-looking bikini etc.)

And the most disappointing of all, a year in which my year 2007 new-year-resolution was a total waste. So, I guess I won't be making year 2008 new-year-resolution. I know I am hopeless. =(

Well, I guess it was a year well-spent; a year that was full of unexpectedness, a journey with many ups and downs, and a year with many falls, but had me slowly getting up on my feet.

I think this was 'journey-year' for me, and I think I am ready for the unexpectedness and the challenges that year 2008 holds for me. Though I am a bit nervous in welcoming year 2008, I am in no position to stop 2007 from slipping away. So, goodbye year 2007 and welcome year 2008. I am wishing for a brilliant year.

P/s: Am hoping to have a great time tonight.

I hereby wishing everyone a wonderful new year eve and an awesome new year to come. =)

Winter 2007 in Melbourne with My Girls
Amber, Taniya, Natalie & I decided to meet up for a movie after not seeing each other for months! We were bum buddies back in high school and used to hang out heaps! But studying in different unis did certainly have an impact on the frequency of us meeting up with each other.

It was a simple girls-night-out - movie followed by cam-whoring, girlie chit-chats and dinner. These are the pictures.

Warning: Cam-whoring is our hobby. =P

Just because I had played pause for quite some time, these updates serve to fill the gaps. :)

Summer 2007 in Melbourne
Warning: Long Post Ahead

Friday 9/11/07
When 'pens down' was announced in the examination hall, I was over the moon. My 3 months and 2 weeks holidays had officially started! Eager to give my long holidays a good kickstart, I went to visit Amber who happened to have plans for me on that night itself! - clubbing at Seven with Natalie and Amanda. And so, we headed off to the city. =)

We headed off to Flinders Street Station about a couple of hours later, and on our way, we met Sue Lee and Valerene. Due to the crazy exam period, I had been missing many church services that S & V were so surprised to see me! But anyway, S gave us a ride to meet A and N. *Thanks Sue!*

We took a tram to Seven and upon our arrival, we lost Nat and her boy, so Amber, Amanda and I went dancing. The music was great and I had a wonderful time watching the girls' crazy and infectiously funny dance moves.

I met a few people that night.

Saw Koi, my elementary school friend, with her sister.

Met Tsoi, my course mate - which is not much of a coincidence because he goes clubbing almost every single week, but hey, he was really surprised to see me! And so, he bought me 151. Thanks man. =)

I saw P too, someone I met at church. I think P did not recognize me, but I said hi anyway. The funny thing is, P told me that I dance well and asked me whether I take up dancing lessons. I was very shocked because P is a hip-hop dancing teacher and my heels were totally killing my feet! Anyway, Amber and Amanda laughed head over heels when I told them about it.

Overall, it was great fun hanging out with my awesome uni mates! =)

It was about 4am when we arrived at Amanda's apartment. I was so sleepy that I fell asleep at the couch and Bubbles (Amanda's aunt's dog) - a schnauzer, slept with me throughout the night! He is extremely cute when he stretches in his sleep. =)

Saturday 10/11/07
I woke up at about 12 noon, took a refreshing shower and us girls were out in town again! We went to Pancake Parlour for brunch. We had

A main dish - I forgot its name =P
Plain pancakes - topped with ice-cream and maple syrup
Chocolate pancakes - toped with ice-cream, chocolate syrup, cream and strawberries

Yum! We were extremely full after our satisfying brunch and so we went shopping at Bourke Street. The new Supré on Bourke is huge, but the clothes are pretty expensive.

Dinner was going to be at Amanda's place, so we girls went to shop for groceries at Safeway. We bought heaps of food: a whole roasted chicken, potatoes, tomatoes, mushrooms, asparagus, orange juice, garden salad, watermelon, crackers and popsicles.

Back in Amanda's apartment:
Bubble is very adorable. He loves sitting on my lap because I would always stroke him. =)

Amber whipped up an awesome dinner, but we did help!

Amanda and I helped bake the potatoes, asparagus and mushrooms; and helped slice the watermelon, reheat the roast chicken and set up the table.
Amber made the fillings of the baked potatoes - diced tomatoes, diced onions and chopped spring onion with a dash of salt; and made the salad's dressing - balsamic vinegar and olive oil.

This was our dinner.

Entrée: Crackers with sour-cream & sweet chilli; salad with balsamic vinegar & olive oil
Main Dish: Roast chicken; baked potato with fillings, mushrooms & melted cheese; asparagus
Beverage: Orange Juice
Dessert: Watermelon

We were supposed to have popsicles for dessert as well, but we were too full, so we spent the night watching 'How I Met Your Mother'. It was about 10 when Amber and I went home with some leftovers and I concluded the night with two episodes of Grey's Anatomy Season 1. :)

P/s: It was Maya's Birthday. =)

Sunday 11/11/07
I was late for church again. I think I missed worship. Oops!

Val reserved me for lunch when she saw me on Friday, so lunch was with V, Aaron, Aun, Leanne, Phoebe, Ivy and Steve at Wing Loong. It was a beautiful sunny day, so Val and I shared some Trampoline Gelato for desert. =D

V & I went to Carlton Gardens with Aun and Leanne after lunch. While Aun was playing basketball with the guys, we girls - V, L and I, 'picnicked' at the park adjacent to the basketball court. L has this awesome picnic rug and so, we could lie down on our backs and enjoy the warm sunshine. =)

Val, Will, Lee and I went to Max Brenner before I meet up with my study buddies - Karen, Maya and Amber, at Melbourne Central. We girls were going to celebrate Maya's birthday. W was excited to see them. I think it's because he wanted to check out how hot my Brazilian friend is. =P

Karen, Maya, Amber & I went to Hallah, a Korean restaurant near Victoria Market for dinner. The food was awesome and the price was reasonable. We had spicy slow cooked chicken, Korean rice cakes on teriyaki sauce, brown rice and side dishes. Yummy! =P

After dinner, we went bowling at Strike. Apparently, we get a free game with the purchase of a drink. I had Baileys on Ice. I love it!

Bowling was heaps of fun although my team lost. =P

Monday 12/11/07
I woke up at about 8.15am, ran down Swanston Street to meet up with Nic at Federation Square for a morning jog. The air was crisp and clear, and the sun had just slightly warmed the earth. I had not exercised for quite some time, so the morning jog with some motivation from my friend was a good kick-start! =)

We ran about 10km.

Starting Point: Federation Square

Jogging Route:
Along Yarra River, cross the second bridge to arrive at Botanical Gardens, jog one round around the gardens, back to the bridge and run all the way back to Federation Square again.

End Point: Federation Square

It was a good run, a slow relaxing run with a friend to talk to.

I got home at about 10, took a shower, had some milk for breakfast, and then rushed off to meet Amanda at Bourke Street. It was our shopping day! We started off with Supré. I bought a black dress and 2 tops. I had spent $135 in the very first shop! *gasp*

Amanda and I met up with Amber an hour later. We visited Charles & Keith, Sportsgirl and a cute little shop along little Lonsdale before meeting up Nic for lunch. Lunch was at this superb café in Melbourne Central. Amanda's ice coffee topped with vanilla ice-cream looked really yummy! We had sandwiches and focaccia for lunch and I must say that our conversation was hearty. =)

We continued our shopping spree after lunch. I saw a pair of really cute lingerie at Cotton On Body. It is pink with laces and ribbons. N was with us during our shopping spree, so I decided to buy them later. =P I also saw this huge pink bag at Cotton On Body too. It looks like one of those Country Road sports bag. I might consider buying it. =)

I bought a white bag at Cotton On, which is a nice bag to carry around when I hit the beaches. Amanda bought a beach towel at Cotton On and now, I really want to buy it! It's huge and soft and I love the colour, especially the one with pink and white strips. I might consider getting it in Gold Coast if it is not too expensive. *fingers cross* =P

Amber bought a pair of bikini at Myers because we girls were going to hit the beach on Thursday. N left before we girls meet up with Taniya (our highschool BFF) at Starbucks. Amber and I had not seen that chic for months!

Physical wise, she's still skinny and beautiful.
Possession wise, she still owns her charm and her humour, but now possess an awesome camera and a nice car!

Amanda had to leave because she was going to play volleyball with her friends, so after dinner, Taniya drove us to Amber's place in Caulfield.

And that's right, cam-whoring is our hobby! =P

Tuesday 13/11/07
I did not have anything planned for today, so I woke up extra late to catch up with my sleep. By the time I was awake, I realised there was no running water at my place, so I decided to go for a swim at Milano. After 10 laps and relaxing at the Jacuzzi adjacent to the swimming pool, I took a shower and was out in town again! Ronald and I went to this small Jap place near Hardware Lane for lunch. It is a cosy, little restaurant for a quick meal.

Dinner was with Will and Vince. V picked me up from Arrow and we went to La Porchetta.

W and V shared a large pizza.
W had this huge steak with chips.
V had main pasta and
I had entrée marina spaghetti =P

But, I was very full even though I did not finish my food!
For desert, we went to Freddo's on Lygon for gelati.

Wednesday 14/11/07
It was our shopping day again! But this time, we went to Bridge Road and DFO. =) Double A and I were excited to go to the beach the very next day, so we decided to go home earlier.

I meet up with Will, Val and Wei Ling for dinner. We went to this Vietnam restaurant on Swanston Street and later went to Starbucks for coffee. I really enjoy having dinner with them. Our conversations were very hearty! I had a great time catching up with Val! Thanks girl, I love you heaps! I will see you went I get back to Melbourne next year. =)

Thursday 15/11/07
This was my last day in Melbourne. We girls - Amber, Amanda, Taniya, Laura (Amanda's family friend from Brisbane) and I, were going to hit the beach! We met up at Flinders and took a tram down to St Kilda Beach. Taniya went later and brought us watermelon and crackers. We spent the afternoon sun tanning and taking pictures at the beach. I had a great time with my girls! They are awesome!

We were extremely hungry at about 3 in the afternoon, so we walk around the streets at St Kilda finding for a decent restaurant. We finally settled for this nice restaurant for a heavy brunch-dinner. =P

After our meal, Taniya drove us to Amanda's place to change and shower. We ended up spending the night at K Box taking pictures and singing away until 2 am. It was great fun spending time with my girls. They are truly awesome! I love you guys! See you all next year. =)
